Myth: 'Licensed' Chimney Sweeps Are All the Same Across Denver
Denver’s chimney codes vary by neighborhood, older homes near Capitol Hill need different inspections than newer builds in Aurora. A ‘licensed’ sweep might pass a basic test but miss critical checks for your chimney’s age or material. Kevin Nguyen Chimney LLC’s team carries specialized licenses for brick, metal, and prefab chimneys, plus certifications for gas appliance safety. That’s why we ask upfront: ‘What’s your chimney made of?’ before quoting. See our service areas to confirm we cover your Denver suburb.
Fact: Your Home Insurance May Cover More Than Just the Sweep: Here’s What to Watch For
A licensed sweep without full insurance could leave you on the hook if something goes wrong during the job. Kevin Nguyen Chimney LLC’s policy includes $1M in liability coverage for cracked masonry, smoke leaks, or even accidental water damage from our work. We also carry workers’ comp, meaning no ‘cash-only’ crews showing up with no backup. Pro tip: Request a certificate of insurance in writing, not just a promise over the phone. For Denver homeowners, this matters most after ice storms or when hiring for older homes with hidden cracks. Need a second opinion? Compare DIY risks here before booking.
